"A PREMIERE EXPERIENCE"
Chelsey Montgomery-Gusta's journey into dog training began in college when a therapist recommended an emotional support animal for anxiety. Today, she runs Knallhart Kennels & Training Academy, a premier dog boarding and training facility near Iowa City.
"PURPOSE + GOALS"
She competes in dog shows nationwide with her renowned Newfoundland dogs. She’s often the only Black woman at these events, but that hasn’t stopped her from becoming one of Iowa’s premier dog trainers.
“CARE + IDENTITY”
Montgomery-Gusta says that being a Black woman entrepreneur is part of her identity, and she hopes to inspire young women to chase their dreams.
